Police have identified the victim in an early-morning shooting.

The Fort Wayne Police Department said Michael A. Beasley, 50, has been upgraded to serious condition. At around 12:14 a.m. Monday the FWPD responded to the intersection of Lafayette Street and McKinnie Avenue to a report of shots fired, according to an FWPD news release. When officers arrived, they found Beasley suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics provided medical attention to the victim before taking him to a local hospital.

Investigators on the scene interviewed witnesses who saw a male running away eastbound after the shooting. No additional suspect information is available and no arrests have been made.

This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD and the Allen County prosecutor's office.
