The Fort Wayne TinCaps let an 8-1 lead get away from them as they extended their losing streak to five games, dropping a 10-9 game at Parkview Field on Tuesday night to the Lake County Captains.

Fort Wayne (55-49, 12-24) started fast, getting five in the first inning. Luis Domoromo had the b ig blow, a three-run homer. Maxx Tissenbaum also added an RBI single, as did Gabriel Quintana.

Lake County (40-63, 18-19) came back to score a run in the third off starter Walker Weichel, who went 4 and one-third innings as Fort Wayne's starter. The TinCaps bounced back with three more in its half of the third, with Brian Adams' two-run triple being the big hit He later scored on an error to make it 8-1

But Lake County's seven-run fifth inning tied the contest and knocked out Weichel.

Mallex Smith sacrificed him to third, and he later scored on Alberth Martinez' ground out, to make it 9-8. The Captains tied it again with a single run in the sixth on three hits and an intentional walk.

There was no more scoring until the top of the ninth inning, when reliever Chris Nunn took over for Trevor Gott. Nunn gave up a one-out walk, and two singles which put Lake County ahead to stay 10-9.

The two teams meet again at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday at Parkview Field before continuing the series Thursday and Friday in Ohio.
