Letter to the editor: In Obama's image?

Monday, August 5, 2013 - 8:51 am

The Obama administration has demonstrated political savvy and daring in its efforts to replace the Constitution with the Manifesto. It has shown indifference or incompetence in such bread-and-butter issues as the economy and employment.

In between these two extremes, there are a number of problems that persist as “useful crises” and pretexts for radical innovation and revolutionary change. Here are some examples: 1. legal protection for Muslims who lie and murder in the name of religion; 2. affirmative action, which denies equality before the law; 3. open borders, which are no borders at all; 4. minority rights, which set aside majority rule; 5. civil rights, which undermine common decency and moral order; 6. desegregation, which denies the right of personal privacy; and 7. abortion, which denies the unborn’s right to life.

We cannot continue to play President Obama’s games as though nothing else really mattered. Obama is a threat to America, but his is also a distraction. If we do not free ourselves from his leftist agenda and focus on the things that make us who and what we are, we will inadvertently pass onto our children a misshapen caricature of America, a country and culture radically transformed in Obama’s image. That is a chilling thought!
