New websiteSpecialized Printed Products has launched a new web identity for Caring About People, a mental health agency that serves individuals of all ages in northeast Indiana. The site can be found at www.caringaboutpeopleinc.com.

Free cancer screenings

Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Fort Wayne TinCaps will offer free screenings including PSA for men over 40 attending the TinCaps game at 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and for the public 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday in the Lincoln Financial Center at Parkview Field, 1301 Ewing St.

The PSA screening measures the level of prostate-specific antigen in the blood. Elevated levels can indicate prostate cancer or other serious health issues. Time slots are limited; while walk-ins may be accepted, reservations are highly recommended. To reserve a time slot, call 1-260-266-9180 today.

Dental care offered

IPFW Division of Continuing Studies, 2101 Coliseum Blvd. E., will offer the training “Dental Education Coronal Polishing and Fluoride Administrations” 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 10. Cost will be $850 and provide 8 CEUs.

Support group meets

Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency/COPD Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Aug. 20 at Don Hall’s Old Gas House Restaurant, 305 E. Superior St. Speaker will be Dr. Eustace Fernandes, Lutheran Medical Group, Pulmonology. Meeting sponsor will be Baxter BioScience.

Drum circle planned

IPFW director of music therapy Nancy Jackson will facilitate a drum circle 6:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 22 and Sept. 26 at Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, 6316 Mutual Drive. The event is free and open to the public. Instruments will be supplied. No musical ability is necessary, and you do not have to have experienced cancer to participate. Families with school-age children are welcome.

Junior Jesters planned

The Jesters program of the University of Saint Francis will launch Junior Jesters, a new program for children ages 6-14 with developmental and/or physical disabilities, that will run in conjunction with the Jesters program for older children and adults from 10 a.m. to noon beginning Sept. 7 and every Saturday at the USF North Campus building, 2702 Spring St. A visual arts program will be held at noon-2 p.m. in the Rolland Center for Art and Visual Communication.

Annual participation fees are $60 per participant. Scholarships are available. For a registration form, call 399-7700, Ext. 8001.
