Letter to the editor: Bennett stench traces back to Daniels

Wednesday, August 7, 2013 - 12:01 am

The stench is there, even though The News-Sentinel editorialist softens Tony Bennett’s cheating by claiming, “It’s been done before and will be done again.”

I believe the smell can be traced all the way back to the much-lauded ex-Gov. Daniels. His attempt to influence faculty curriculum and muzzling political opposition preceded another unethical maneuver.

There was an aura of arrogance in that office culminating in his self-appointed trip to the presidency of Purdue – chosen by trustees who owe their jobs to the candidate.

Although there seems to be some unrest among Purdue students and faculty, I would think that reaction among Purdue alumni would be great. Ohio State’s Gordon Gee was forced to resign over inappropriate remarks.
