The Indiana Chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation will be hosting its annual Take Steps for Crohn's and Colitis walk celebration and fundraiser.
Take Steps is the organization's main tool to advance awareness of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, collectively known as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). The event will be Sept. 7 at Indian Trails Park in Fort Wayne. The event will start at 4 p.m. with festivities and activities for the kids, food, music and more.
IBD affects more than 30,000 Hoosiers. Due to the nature of these diseases, IBD is often not discussed and leaves patients feeling isolated. Events like Take Steps, the Indiana Chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation is working to educate Indiana and give resources to IBD patients and caretakers.
