President Obama plans to reconstruct America along revolutionary lines, turning our social structure on its head with government firmly in control on top and well-regulated people on the bottom.
This reconstruction will replace the outdated Bill of Rights and Constitution.
We need to remind ourselves that we still have more than President Obama or anyone else can offer. Our traditional political and social structures reflect the nature of man and the will of God.
We have not always honored that or used them well, but they are at the top of how humans choose to live. President Obama’s plan is at the bottom, as the shortcomings of communism and crime indicate.
Man is a social animal whose life together in communities of various sorts is dictated and shaped by human feelings and reasons, and by divine revelation. Long before Mr. Obama, Karl Marx and the Mafiosi showed up there were common law, common decency, the common good and common sense, which these things enshrine.
Governments tend to subvert law to serve the ruling class. But law begins with people living together in communities.
Decency is not defined by government but by people who believe in a good God and a good life together. Although by nature individuals want to survive and thrive, the people are willing to put themselves at risk to protect and promote the common good. Such things are expressions of common sense.
Ironically, governments have been the most persistent threat to the norms and mores of human communities.
Never has that been more apparent than in the pretensions of President Obama along with the communists and crooks in this administration.
Contrary to the progressive propaganda mills, we do not need President Obama’s bureaucratic machine to save us from ourselves, to rewrite our laws, redefine our morals and revolutionize our goals.
Such things are the right and duty “of the people, for the people, and by the people.” Those who do not understand this cannot lead us.
