No ruling yet on if his death was a homicide

Wednesday, August 21, 2013 - 11:53 am

Authorities have released the name of a man who was found critically injured early Monday in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Fairfield Avenue. He died later Monday at Lutheran Hospital.

Marco Antonio Vinas-Herran, 31, of Fort Wayne died of blunt-force trauma, the Allen County coroner's office found after an autopsy. The investigation into his death, which may have been caused by a hit-and-run driver, is continuing. The coroner's office has not determined the manner of his death; that is, whether his death was accidental or a homicide.

The victim was found at about 6:35 a.m. Monday.
