Monday death of man found in parking lot ruled homicide

Friday, August 23, 2013 - 12:33 pm

The Monday death of a man who was possibly struck by a vehicle has been ruled a homicide.

The Allen County Coroner's Office had previously ruled that Marco Antonio Vinas-Herran, 31, of Fort Wayne died of blunt-force trauma. The Friday ruling of homicide brings the total committed in Allen County this year to 29.

Vinas-Herran was discovered Monday in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Fairfield Avenue around 6:35 a.m., by a man heading to a gas station to get coffee. Vinas-Herran was taken to Lutheran Hospital in critical condition and died later that day.
