Dwenger's performance against South Side puts the Saints in the top spot

Saturday, August 24, 2013 03:11 pm
1. BISHOP DWENGER (1-0) — Saints have an incredibly balanced offense, as well as a stingy defense. 2. CARROLL (1-0) — Chargers show dominance in claiming the “Cheviron Bowl” over Goshen.

3. SNIDER (1-0) — Panthers paced by defense (get used to this) in beating up on a young Bishop Luers squad.

4. EAST NOBLE (1-0) — Hard to tell if Knights' offense or defense was more impressive.

5. HOMESTEAD (1-0) — I didn't think Week 1 would be easy for Sparty and it wasn't.

6/ LEO (1-0) — Lions send message to rest of Northeast Hoosier Conference about the future.

7. NEW HAVEN (1-0) — Bulldogs win big, but better shore up that defense (21 first-half points allowed).

8. NORTH SIDE (1-0) — Redskins need to fine-tune some things if they want to challenge the elite of the SAC.

9. CHURUBUSCO (1-0) — 'Busco unveils “Air Eagle” offensive attack (6 passes) in dominating win.

10. WOODLAN (1-0) — Warriors secure most impressive victory in Haydock era.

11. SOUTH SIDE (0-1) — Archers have to diversify offensive attack at least a little bit.

12. WAYNE (1-0) — Generals teach Indians a lesson on Fort Wayne football.

13. BISHOP LUERS (0-1) — Oops! Knights just turned the ball over again.

14. CONCORDIA LUTHERAN (0-1) — David Morrison's arm will fall off by end of the season.

15. NORTHROP (0-1) — No Colin Brockhouse AND you don't defend?

16. COLUMBIA CITY (0-1) — Quarterback guru Randy Hudgins is going to earn his paycheck this season.

17. ADAMS CENTRAL (1-0) — Nothing boosts a team's confidence like playing Blackford.

18. BLUFFTON (1-0) — Nice, balanced offense by the Tigers. But it was Northfield.

19. SOUTH ADAMS (1-0) — Starfires earn first win, and that mental toughness will help later in season.

20. NORWELL (0-1) — Knights are 5-29 in last 34 games. That is officially a trend.

21. HERITAGE (0-1) — Patriots did move the ball against the New Haven defense.

22. BELLMONT (0-1) — Braves learn what rest of area will soon – Woodlan is pretty good.

23. GARRETT (0-1) — Railroaders have HUGE test next week against DeKalb.

24. DeKALB (0-1) — Barons have HUGE test next week against Garrett.
