Victim identified after fatal Allen County crash

Tuesday, August 27, 2013 - 8:34 am

Brett Patrick Yunker, 23, was declared dead Sunday afternoon after his car struck a pole in northwest Allen County.

After conducting an autopsy Monday morning the Allen County Coroner released Yunker's name and cause of death: blunt force trauma due to motor vehicle crash.

The crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. Sunday. An Allen County Sheriff's Department officer arrived at the single-vehicle crash in the 4700 block of Woods Road and found a silver Pontiac Firebird that had crashed into a pole, according to department spokesman Officer Adam Griffith. The officer called for medics, who pronounced Yunker dead. No passengers were in the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's department.
