Fort Wayne Police are searching for who killed in a man in a shooting around Lillie Street early Wednesday morning.
Fort Wayne Police were called in reference to a shooting at 2:23 a.m. in the 1300 block of Lillie Street. Officers found a man in the north/south alley between Lillie and Winter Street with what appeared to be an apparent gunshot wound or wounds, according to FWPD spokesman Officer Jason Anthony.
Three Rivers Ambulance Authority paramedics took the victim to a local hospital in critical condition, where a doctor declared him dead.
Detectives are interviewing potential witnesses and investigating where the shooting occurred.
No arrests have been made and there are no suspects at this time, according to Anthony. The Allen County coroner’s office will release the victim’s identity along with the cause and manner of death, he said.
This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD, the coroner's office and the Allen County prosecutor's office.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department assisted at the scene.
