Action by the Allen County Commissioners is expected to boost commercial development near the new Parkview Regional Medical Center – including a possible “big box” store.

The commissioners Friday rezoned 40.5 acres near Dupont and Diebold roads to a category allowing a “regional shopping center” that could include a “big box” store such as Wal-Mart, said Michelle Wood of the Allen County Department of Planning Services, who said no such tenant has yet been identified. The area will include 10 lots for development.
