Stephen Houston finally finds his form

Sunday, September 15, 2013 - 12:01 am

BLOOMINGTON – Indiana tailback Stephen Houston had just 39 rushing yards in the first two games as he adapted to a backup role to Tevin Coleman.

He found his rhythm during Saturday's 42-10 win over Bowling Green. He rushed for 155 yards, and caught a 31-yard pass.

Coleman rushed for 129 yards as IU had two running backs surpass 100 yards in the same game for the first time since Oct. 11, 2003, against Northwestern.

Here are some of the topics Houston addressed after the game:

On the running game's production

"I was just going out there to play and not worrying about the stats. It was more about going out and turning around what we didn't do last week and building off what we did in practice to win a game."

On having two 100-yard rushers:

"A lot of that credit goes to our offensive line. We watched a lot of film and saw they would over pursue the outside run so we had more time to cut it back up the field. Tevin (Coleman) and I were just running hard but the credit goes to the offensive line."

On breaking the 60-yard run:

"It felt great to get out there and break the seam for once. It felt like I hadn't done that in a long time, but I got kind of winded. With time, I will start to get my wind back and be able to score on that. But at the end of the day we got the "W" so that's all that matters."
