TV diary: Season openers airing soon

Tuesday, September 17, 2013 - 12:01 am

Some networks have been busy introducing new series and season premieres, and Fox is no exception.

Tonight's prime-time schedule includes the new series “Dads” — about a couple of video-game developers who take in their difficult-to-live-with fathers — at 8 p.m. and the new series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” — a comedy about an eclectic group of New York detectives (a la “Barney Miller”?) — at 8:30 p.m.

“New Girl” opens its third season at 9 p.m. with Jess and Nick traveling to a Mexican beach town, while “The Mindy Project” begins season two at 9:30 p.m. with Mindy meeting the new OB-GYN (James Franco).

CBS is still airing repeats of “NCIS” (at 8 p.m.), “NCIS: Los Angeles” (at 9 p.m.) and “Person of Interest.” The cast of “NCIS,” I understand, will undergo another change with the arrival of Ziva David's replacement.

Since the elimination portion of ABC's “Dancing With the Stars,” one would think the network had some game plan to cope with the extra two hours Tuesday nights. Maybe some new shows — dramas, comedies. Seems ABC never got the memo. Instead, ABC is showing “Iron Man 2” with Robert Downey Jr. at 8 tonight.

Bravo is airing a repeat of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” at 8 p.m., while the series premiere of “I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding” begins at 9 p.m. as Gregg and NeNe Leakes plan to tie the knot again. “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum is well-known for walking off “Celebrity Apprentice.”
