Friday, September 20, 2013 - 12:09 am

A man was in critical condition Thursday evening after a reported shooting at a southeast-side apartment complex.

The incident took place at around 7 p.m., according to a news release. Fort Wayne Police Department officers responded to the Twin Oaks apartment complex in the 2700 block of East Paulding Road to investigate reports of a shooting, where they and paramedics found a man who had an apparent gunshot wound.

The emergency medical personnel provided assistance at the scene and then took the man, who was deemed to be in critical condition, to a local hospital. The police department has not released suspect information and no arrests have been made.

The initial investigation indicates the shooting victim and another person were walking when someone came out of an apartment building and began shooting. The shooter then ran off, according to the news release.

The shooting is being investigated by the police department and the Allen County prosecutor's office.
