Sometimes in life, you've just gotta be sure – and have a little fun along the way.
That mentality is what led Huntertown's Thomas Kirk to be one of the first people to obtain Apple's iPhone 5S Friday, as he decided to camp out overnight to get his 32GB version shortly after the store opened at 9815 Lima Road. He arrived at the store at 11 p.m.
“I was a little worried they might sell out,” Kirk said. “So I decided to do something different; I've never slept in a car before. I brought my dog with me. It was OK.”
There were a few people waiting patiently outside the store as customers were being served, so, Kirk's vigilance wasn't in vain.
Apple is releasing two versions of its phone Friday: the 5C (with five color options) and the 5S (with three color options.)
Kirk, who described himself as an average user of the numerous options the phone offers, said he “loves Apple,” and that the wait was worth it due to the improved camera and increased processing speed of the new phone. And the fingerprint scanner the new phones have?
“That's pretty cool,” Kirk said.
