Canterbury falls in semistate tennis

Singles player Davis Huber continues in tournament

The No. 4-ranked Canterbury boys tennis team lost to No. 2 North Central 4-1 on Saturday at Homestead. The Cavaliers finish their season 19-3.

The lone bright spot for the Cavaliers was the win by No. 1 singles player Davis Huber over Ari Gerstein 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 allowing the senior to continue in the individual singles tournament with a 17-2 record.

The other scores in the match were North Central's Jonathon Kroot defeating Canterbury's Clay Hoffacker 6-0,. 6-0 and North Central's Jonathon Wynne beating Thomas Filus 6-4, 6-3 in singles. In doubles, North Central's Patrick McAuley and William Reifeis beat Chad Schouweiler and Chris Yahanda 6-1, 6-2, and North Central's Alexander Bertolini and Fairfield Colton beat Ankur Lai and Michael Wang 6-2, 6-0.
