The 62nd Christ Child Festival will be Dec. 6-8 at a new location: the University of Saint Francis Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry St. The event was previously at the Memorial Coliseum.
With the goal of “keeping Christ in Christmas,” the organization works to foster the Christmas spirit of generosity year-round. To that end, this year's theme is “Sharing the Love of Christ Through . . .” The festival will include a children's area with crafts and activities that will include games, balloon hats and a scavenger hunt to collect Bible story cards. A “living Nativity" will be presented.
New this year is a photo contest called “Witnessing the Glory of God,” which runs through Nov. 15. The top 10 photos will be on display at the festival. First prize is a two-night stay at the Oakwood Resort at Lake Wawasee and a $50 food allowance. There is no fee to enter, and rules and entry forms can be found at www.fwchristchildfestival.org/photo-contest.
There is no admission fee to the festival, but guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the Associated Churches Food Bank. Festival hours are 6-9 p.m. Dec. 6, noon-8 p.m. Dec. 7 and noon-5 p.m. Dec. 8. For more information, visit fwchristchildfestival.org.
