Fort Wayne man faces multiple counts of child molesting

Saturday, October 19, 2013 - 6:34 am

A man has been charged with multiple counts of child molesting.

According to a documents filed in Allen Superior Court, Juan X. Flores, 44, faces four counts each of Class A and Class C felony child molesting, for a total of eight charges. The probable-cause affidavit alleges that Flores began molesting the girl, who was then under the age of 14, in May 2007 and continued with various illegal acts until June 2011, with the child still under 14 years old.

The girl told a school counselor of the alleged sexual abuse, and then told a forensic interviewer that the first instance of abuse took place when no one else was in her home, while she was wearing pajamas and watching a cartoon.

The probable-cause affidavit states that the alleged victim said she was sometimes able to stop the abuse by telling Flores to stop or that she would get out of bed, and that it stopped permanently when she reportedly told him "I don't like what you've become."

Flores reportedly declined an interview with a detective from the Fort Wayne Police Department.
