Motorcyclist critically injured on Coliseum Boulevard

Sunday, October 20, 2013 - 8:06 pm

A motorcyclist was hospitalized in critical condition after a car pulled into his path Sunday afternoon, according to Fort Wayne Police.

Police were called at 1:25 p.m. to the 700 block East Coliseum Boulevard, at the entrance to Northcrest Shopping Center, on the reported motor vehicle accident, according to police spokesman Officer Michael Joyner. An officer found the man suffering from multiple traumatic injuries. He was taken to a local hospital where he was found to be in critical condition. The driver of the passenger car and her passenger refused medical treatment at the scene.

Police believe the motorcyclist was westbound on Coliseum when the car made a left turn and drove directly into the path of his motorcycle. Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol are a factor in this incident.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, and the Allen County prosecutor's office.
