Fort Wayne man killed in Sunday shooting now identified

Monday, October 21, 2013 - 6:11 pm

Authorities have identified a man who was shot to death just after noon Sunday in the second fatal shooting in Fort Wayne last weekend.

Lance A. Murray, 30, of Fort Wayne, was found by police when they were dispatched at 12:10 p.m. to the 1200 block of West Wildwood Avenue. Paramedics pronounced Murray dead at the scene. An autopsy Monday morning verified that gunshot was the cause of Murray's death, and that death was ruled a homicide by the Allen County Coroner's Office.

Investigators were told that a white vehicle was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed immediately after gunshots were fired. Police have not announced any arrests or provided a description of any suspect.

Murray's death was the 38th homicide this year in Fort Wayne and Allen County.
