TOM DAVIS, News-Sentinel sports editor

Last week: 7-3

Heritage over Garrett - Patriots learned lessons of overlooking Railroaders a week ago.

Bluffton over Eastern - Comets haven't beaten good (or average) team all year.

South Adams over Northfield - Norse have three wins over teams with two wins combined.

Carroll over Homestead - Chargers fans reveling in this season versus Sparty.

East Noble over NorthWood - No one is beating Knights - in Kendallville.

Bellmont over Whitko - Braves aren't real good, but are good enough.

Bishop Dwenger over Northridge - Tough road test for Saints, but they pass it - barely.

Bishop Luers over West Noble - At some point, pride has to become involved with Knights.

Churubusco over Eastside - Eagles snap two-game skid - barely.

Leo over Wawasee - Lions have outscored 4A opponents 86-6 this year.

THE PIG, News-Sentinel football expert

Overall: 60-30

Heritage over Garrett - This week, Patriots get off to quick start, down Garrett comfortably.

Bluffton over Eastern - Tigers have lost three straight, but get a sectional win on the road.

Northfield over South Adams - Starfires have not won since early September.

Carroll over Homestead - No one is playing better right now than the Chargers.

East Noble over NorthWood - Knights' defense has been impressive last three weeks.

Whitko over Bellmont - Bellmont has struggled to slow down good teams offensively.

Bishop Dwenger over Northridge - No easy opponent for the Saints to open sectional play.

Bishop Luers over West Noble - This has to be the week, right?

Churubusco over Eastside - Time for Eagles to respond after two-game losing skid.

Leo over Wawasee - Lions better not look ahead, Warriors are tough.

GLEN MARINI, WANE-TV sports director

Last week: 7-3

Overall: 64-26

Heritage over Garrett - This one will feel like deja vu all over again.

Bluffton over Eastern - Tigers better prepared than Comets for playoffs.

South Adams over Northfield - Like Bluffton, Starfires had tougher body of work.

Carroll over Homestead - Teams headed in opposite directions.

East Noble over NorthWood - Knights tough to figure out, but are plenty dangerous in Kendallville.

Bellmont over Whitko - Braves seem to turn in on when they play 3A teams in the postseason.

Bishop Dwenger over Northridge - Saints have track record of getting things done in the playoffs.

Bishop Luers over West Noble - I just can't imagine a world where Luers goes 0-for-the-season.

Churubusco over Eastside - Eagles will get back to their winning ways after two tough losses.

Leo over Wawasee - I would not take the Warriors for granted in this battle.
