INDIANAPOLIS — Democratic School Superintendent Glenda Ritz's lawsuit against other members of the State Board of Education has been dismissed by a Marion County judge.
Attorney General Greg Zoeller challenged Ritz's ability to bring suit against other state officials without his approval. Marion County Judge Louis Rosenberg dismissed the lawsuit Friday afternoon.
The lawsuit marked the height of political tensions between Ritz and the other members, all appointed by Republican governors. Ritz alleged the board violated Indiana's open meetings law when they went around her in shifting school grade calculations to a legislative agency. The board members had argued Ritz was dragging her feet calculating the grades.
The dismissal came as the board agreed on a timeline Friday for calculating the 2012-2013 school grades and began considering a new grading formula.
