BLOOMINGTON — The criminal case has been delayed again against rock star John Mellencamp's two sons on felony charges of punching and kicking a 19-year-old man in southern Indiana.A Monroe County judge granted a request from lawyers for 19-year-old Hud Mellencamp, 18-year-old Speck Mellencamp and another 19-year-old man that a hearing scheduled for Thursday be postponed.

All three face battery charges for the July 29 attack that authorities say happened outside a Bloomington home on a man who they believed had hit Speck Mellencamp earlier that night. The man suffered serious facial fractures.

The Mellencamps waived initial hearings on the charges and October court hearings also were postponed. The Herald-Times reports court hearings for them are now scheduled for Jan. 6.

John Mellencamp lives near Bloomington.
