BLOOMINGON -- Indiana sophomore guard Yogi Ferrell was a catalyst for the Hoosiers' 105-59 win over Samford Friday night. His career-high 26 points helped IU score its most points since getting 107 against Howard in 2011.
It was a big turnaround from IU's 73-72 win over LIU Brooklyn Tuesday night.
Here's what Ferrell had to say after the game:
On the improvement from the last game:
“We tried to get inside presence more. That was a big emphasis. We weren't hunting for shots. We took what the game was giving us. We were looking for more inside out.”
On forward Hanner Perea's improvement:
“He's playing with confidence. Coach (Tom Crean) even said he's the most improve player he's ever coached. I can see that. He's great with his footwork. He's been in the gym so much working on his moves. He knows where to go. He knows his tendencies.”
What can you take from a blow-out win like this?
“You have to make sure you execute and stay together. You make sure that you block out, work on little things so that, throughout the season when a game is close, you make sure you make those right decisions.”
