Indiana Michigan Power Co. reported late Tuesday morning that it anticipates restoring power to all its Fort Wayne customers by noon Wednesday.
About 800 Fort Wayne customers remain without power following the high winds Sunday afternoon.
Power outages were widespread through the utility’s service area after the Sunday storms and strong winds. Since then, I&M has restored power to about 45,000 of the more than 70,000 customers whose electricity was knocked out, the utility said.
I&M said Tuesday that more than 900 of its employees have been joined by nearly 700 people from AEP sister companies and contractors to restore power to areas that are still without.
