Tip of the Hat

Wednesday, November 27, 2013 - 12:01 am

Tip of the hat goes to all of the nice folks at the IHOP on Jefferson Boulevard. My mom and I eat breakfast there Sundays, and everyone there is so nice and does such a great job. It is greatly appreciated more than you know! Keep up the great work!

A big thank you to Patti, David, Julie and those who gave our mother, Lucille, great care during her stay on the second floor of the Ortho Hospital after hip surgery.

I'd like to rave about some extraordinary people who recently helped me explore the topography and history of northeast Indiana. The first are Jim Taylor and his wife, who introduced me to the Historic Forks of the Wabash in Huntington. Secondly, Ron Zartman helped me look for the sources of the Little (Wabash) River in the Fox Island-Eagle Marsh area of Fort Wayne. These are knowledgeable and friendly people who are committed to conservation, preservation and sharing what they have learned about our land and past. Thanks, folks.

After having a long day at work on Nov. 13, I decided to go through the drive-thru at the Chick-fil-A at Jefferson Pointe. When I proceeded to pay at the register, she told me the driver ahead had already paid for my meal. Thanks to this kind stranger, my spirits were lifted!
