•Gov. Mike Pence recently honored the following Indiana companies for longevity and community service by awarding them the Governor's Century Business Award at the Indiana Historical Society's Founders Day Dinner. County: DeKalb: Messenger LLC, 100 years; and Huntington: Bippus State Bank, 102 years.

•Goshen Hospital and Healthcare Foundation, Goshen, will receive an oversized check at 4 p.m. Dec. 18 in the offices of Mayor Allan Kauffman, 202 S. 5th Street, Goshen. This will be one of the largest gifts in its 45-year history to one local healthcare organization.

•Barrett & McNagny LLP, Fort Wayne, has ranked in the 2014 Best Law Firms rankings by U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers in the practice areas of bankruptcy and creditor debtor rights/insolvency and reorganization law; commercial litigation, corporate law, employee benefits (ERISA) law, personal injury litigation-defendants; and tax law.

•Huntington University, Huntington, has been ranked 16th in the state for the most affordable online colleges in Indiana. The school offers online degree programs through the graduate and professional programs as well as classes through the undergraduate program.

•Lumina Foundation announces that Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana region will be among the first 230 cities in America to partner with Lumina Foundation in a mobilization effort designed to increase the number of local residents with post-secondary credentials. The areas talent development efforts, know as the Big Goal Collaborative, will have access to significant technical and planning assistance, data tools, flexible funding and guidance from a network of national thought leaders.
