Letter to the editor: Giving thanks for soup kitchen volunteers

The Saint Mary’s Soup Kitchen Thanksgiving dinner was again a wonderful success. Over 2,200 pounds of turkey were prepared along with dressing, sweet potatoes, green beans and cranberries. We served about 752 sit-down meals and 821 carryout meals. Over 389 volunteers assisted in the setup, serving and cleanup.
As chairman of this event I would like thank the Fort Wayne community, Pepsi Co., Sun King Ice Co., Kelly Box Co., the schools, the many individuals who made donations, and all the volunteers who helped make this dinner possible.
