Allen Superior Court Judge Davis elected to two-year term as Chief Judge

Friday, December 20, 2013 - 1:33 pm

Allen Superior Court Judge Wendy W. Davis, who serves in the Criminal Division, has been elected Chief Judge for a two-year term that begins Jan. 1.

Davis was elected to serve as a Superior Court judge in the fall of 2010 and began her term in 2011.

Davis, in her role as Chief Judge, replaces Judge David J. Avery of the Civil Division, whose term ends Dec. 31. Avery will continue in the Civil Division.

“I look forward to the opportunity to serve the public, my colleagues on the bench, and other elected officials in local and state government in my role as Chief Judge,” Davis said in a released statement.

“These are challenging times for judges and courts, in terms of budget, caseload and the deployment of technology to improve the efficiency, promptness and accessibility of the judicial system,” Davis said.
