Letter to the editor: We will all be judged and pay for our sins

Wednesday, December 25, 2013 - 12:01 am

This letter is not meant to anger anyone but to get everyone to think.

When you go to the place you go to worship do they teach that the Holy Bible is the only true Word of God? Do they use Scripture to interpret Scripture? God’s laws in the Holy Bible have authority over man’s law?

God has final authority over everything. God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), God the Holy Spirit are one. Mankind is sinful from birth (it was handed down in our spiritual DNA from Adam and Eve), and that sin separates us from having a true relationship with God our Father, Creator.

That sin must be paid for, and that payment was death, a total separation from God. That God remedied that situation by sending his son Jesus to die in our place on the cross to pay for all the sin of mankind, and then raise from the grave to prove death was defeated and by believing and trusting in Jesus we have now a relationship with God and eternal life.

Do they teach confession of our sins and repentance (that is to acknowledge our wrongdoings and turn from our sinful lifestyle and return to God)? Do they encourage you to study, not only read but to ponder the holy word of God to see how to apply it in our lives on a daily basis to help us grow spiritually to become more Christlike?

If you answer no to any of the questions I have put forth, then ask yourself if you are really attending a house of God. For we will all be judged upon death for our sins whether we have accepted and trusted in Jesus’ payment for them.

It will be the determining factor whether we have eternal life or eternal death
