Letter to the editor: I'm throwing my hat into the ring

Tuesday, January 7, 2014 - 12:01 am

As 2014 dawns, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the taxpayers and residents of Allen County.

I am here asking for your support as I run to become your next Allen County assessor. For the past seven years I have had the honor and privilege to serve the taxpayers of Wayne Township as your chief deputy assessor. In those seven years I have become the first and only IAAO (International Association of Assessing Officers) professional designee in Allen County, holding designations as an assessment administration specialist and a residential evaluation specialist. I am also a level III certified assessor-appraiser and an Indiana certified tax representative.

Education is extremely important to me, and it is something I want to bring to all of Allen County. The taxpayers deserve to have that level of expertise, education and experience working for them.

I look forward to this journey and to having the opportunity to meet residents all across this great county of ours. I promise to be for the taxpayer and always accountable to the taxpayers of Allen County.

Together, we can make the office of the Allen County Assessor work for you.

Sam Walker, AAS, RES

Democratic candidate for Allen County assessor
