Scouting report: At this juncture, Diggs is the one of – if not the – most highly thought of Cardinal recruit in this class. He was originally committed to Toledo, but decommitted in August. Diggs had visted Ball State last spring and received an offer at that time. He has played multiple positions in high school and on both sides of the ball. However, he is mostly projected as an outside linebacker for Ball State, but could gain weight and get onto the line at end. Cardinal coach Pete Lembo prefers to redshirt as many freshmen as possible, but if a guy can contribute immediately, he'll be asked to. Cardinal first-year linebackers Stu Stanley and Sean Wiggins both saw action this season. The Cardinals graduate just one of their top four outside 'backers from 2013 and have a number of young players seeking an opportunity at the two outside positions this spring. At 200 pounds, Diggs will have to gain 15-20 pounds to really be at the level next fall where Cardinal coaches would like.

On Jan. 31, Diggs decommitted from Ball State and pledged to play at Connecticut.
