Letter to the editor: ND professor to lecture here Feb. 12

Wednesday, January 29, 2014 - 12:01 am

After decades of conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, there is no resolution in sight, much to the dismay of many in this country and around the world.

As part of the conversation on this subject, the Jewish Federation of Fort Wayne will be offering the second in its series Pathways to Peace. Dr. Alan Dowty, professor emeritus of political science at the University Of Notre Dame, will speak at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at the History Center, 301 E. Berry St.

His topic will be “The Fourth Stage of the Arab-Israel Conflict.” This program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

We invite you to attend this important lecture to hear Professor Dowty as he provides a historical review of the Israel/Palestine conflict.

It is the hope of the Federation that through the Pathways to Peace series, we will generate more light than heat and will encourage civil and well-informed discussion in our community on a complex and emotionally charged issue.

We look forward to seeing you on Feb. 12.

Jewish Federation of Fort Wayne

Fran Adler, president

Larry Adelman, community relations council chair
