NEW ORLEANS -- The Mad Ants sent two players to the NBA Development League All-Star Game and they delivered big.
Tony Mitchell defended his D-League dunk title and Ron Howard dished out 11 assists to help the Prospects beat the Futures 145-142 on Saturday at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Mitchell's final dunk in a sudden-death round with Ra'shad James of the Reno Bighorns earned 49 out of 50 points, edging the 48 turned in by James.
Both players posted identical scores of 99 on two dunks in the final round before needing an extra round, which consisted of a one dunk. Howard assisted Mitchell on two of his dunks. Thanasis Antetokounmpo of the Delaware 87ers and Darren White of the Erie BayHawks rounded out the field.
