Fort Wayne Housing Authority announced the opening of the Housing Choice Voucher Program waiting list (previously known as “Section 8”). FWHA will accept applications for the waiting list 9 a.m. March 12 until 4 p.m. March 14. Applications will be accepted at the FWHA website: www.fwha.org. Applications may be picked up 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 12, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. March 13 and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. March 14 at 7315 Hanna St. and 2020 S. Anthony Blvd. Applications may be dropped off at the two locations or mailed to Fort Wayne Housing Authority, Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List, PO Box 13489, Fort Wayne, IN 46869-3489. The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts designed to revitalize the role of literature in American culture. My City Summit: Connect & Thrive is an evening designed for both prominent and aspiring community leaders to explore their roles in building stronger connections in our city while discussing important issues such as crime, economic development, inclusion and diversity, in order to form a thriving community.The Cellular Connection has donated school supply packs to 3,500 teachers across the country, including 10 preselected teachers locally who received their packs Feb. 23.The Lutheran Foundation provided Christian Community Health Care with a $20,000 matching grant. All services are free of charge by a volunteer staff for residents in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.
