IPFW announced the retirement of Irene Walters, executive director of university relations and communications, June 30. "I have been extraordinarily blessed to have my two passions merge in serving the university along with the community of northeast Indiana," Walters said Thursday in a university news release. "I look forward to continuing to volunteer my time and talents to serve the organization in any way possible."

For 19 years Walters was responsible for creating Mastodons on Parade, Tapestry, Sculpture with Purpose, Remnant Trust and Omnibus.

Wendy Kobler, who was appointed vice chancellor for advancement following the December retirement of Linda Ruffolo, executive director of development, said, "Irene has made it clear that she intends to continue utilizing her talents on behalf of IPFW and I look forward to her support and counsel in the months and years ahead."
