Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee has reached an agreement to remain with the team.
The Colts announced McAfee's agreement today and McAfee tweeted that it's a five-year deal. Media reports list the contract at $14 million.
“So excited about the opportunity 2 have 5 more years in the city that I love,” McAfee tweeted. “Indianapolis, let's win a lot of games and have fun doing it.”
McAfee punted 76 times for 3,499 yards (46.0 avg., 38.5 net) in 2013 and set a franchise single-season record with 27 punts pinned inside the 20-yard line, breaking his previous record of 26 in 2012.
McAfee also set a single-game franchise record with six punts pinned inside the 20 in the home win over Denver. McAfee has also been the holder for kicker Adam Vinatieri, who will be a free agent next week if the Colts do not re-sign him.
