Andrews concerned with Ozarks' shooters

Tuesday, March 18, 2014 - 3:31 am

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Saint Francis women's basketball coach Gary Andrews spoke with the News-Sentinel concerning the College of the Ozarks (Mo.) squad after scouting them in Monday's semifinal win against Davenport (Mich.).

The No. 1 seed Cougars (37-0) and No. 7 seed Bobcats (27-9) will meet in the NAIA Division II National Championship game tonight at 8 p.m. (EST) (ESPN3).

Andrews' take on the Bobcats:

"They just can shoot it. They've got a lot of girls that can shoot it. They are very balanced and they play hard. They are playing well right now and they got all of the momentum going right now.

"They played man-to-man defense, which I think is going to be good for us. If (Cougar sophomore forward Brooke Ridley) can't play, if they go man-to-man, hopefully we can attack them and maybe beat them off the dribble a little bit.

"But we are going to have to guard them because man, if you leave them open for a second they are going to bury it."
