The Parkview Center for Healthy Living is still being outfitted for the work of providing health education to area residents, but Parkview officials expect it to be ready for a community open house in mid- to late April. That center will occupy about 1,300 square feet of the building. Parkview owns the building and leases space to the Neighborhood Health Clinics. Parkview also donated about $200,000 in equipment and furnishings to the clinic.
Haupert said the clinic is now open three days a week. That schedule will increase to five days a week later this year. A WIC nutrition site is scheduled to open later in 2014, with a dental clinic following in early 2015.
Services provided at the Parkview Center for Healthy Living will include education on safe sleep, diabetes, asthma, nutrition, CPR and other topics. Smoking cessation, exercise samplers and cooking demos will also be provided at this office, Parkview officials said.
