CHICAGO — This year's Chicago Blues Festival will honor legendary bluesman Sonny Boy Williamson.
The lineup was announced Tuesday for the festival, which will run June 13-15 in Chicago's lakefront Grant Park. It includes headliners like Aaron Neville, the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Otis Taylor Band and Bettye LaVette. This is the 31st year for the festival in Chicago.
The Williamson tribute will be Friday, June 13, and feature performances from musicians inspired by his harmonica playing. One artist, Billy Boy Arnold, performed with Williamson.
The festival also will host three stages during the day with local and international blues musicians. Evening performances will be at Grant Park's Petrillo Music Shell.
The city of Chicago plans preview performances from blues musicians at parks and libraries during the month of May.
