Grab your paddle and travel by canoe from Fort Wayne to Lake Erie along the Fort to Port original transportation system: the Maumee River.Join by canoe or on join us on land to support water protection, community education and river improvements.

Save Maumee’s Canoe Trip will be begin April 19, and run through April 26, with the goal of bringing people together and to their local riverbanks. Starting at the Mississippi and Great Lakes continental divide in Indiana, the trip will end seven days and 141 miles later at the outlet into Maumee Bay in Toledo, Ohio.

The canoe trip is in conjunction with the 2014 Earth Week celebrations along Maumee riverbanks in Indiana and Ohio, and everyone is invited. We all have a part to play in this grand adventure, and you need not have previous activism or outdoors experience to play a part.

Program planning is in midstages, so if you would like to get involved, please do not hesitate to reach out and become an integral part of our historic journey.
