Pedestrian struck and killed by train

The Fort Wayne Police Department on Thursday afternoon was investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a train in the 3100 block of Lower Huntington Road in Waynedale.

According to Michael Joyner, public information officer for the department, the dead man, whose identity is not currently known, was struck around 1:10 p.m. Joyner estimated that traffic on Lower Huntington Road would be stopped until at least 3:30 or 4 p.m.

The Norfolk Southern train that struck the pedestrian was traveling south when he was struck.
