A fire on Monday at Mullinix Packages, 3511 Engle Road, caused no injuries, was confined to a small room and didn’t even cause any significant lost time in production, Fort Wayne firefighters reported.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department arrived at the plant four minutes after the fire was reported at 12:03 p.m. The first firefighters who arrived found light to moderate smoke in the building and tracked the fire to a vacuum pump room in the building. That small room was filled with dense, black smoke, but the fire was contained to electrical equipment in there. About 50 employees evacuated the building, and the fire was determined to be under control at 12:31 p.m. Fire Department officials did not say what caused the fire.

Firefighters said fire caused only minor smoke, fire and water damage to the building.
