The Indiana Republican Party on Monday announced that its convention in Fort Wayne in June will include bands and tours of the city's attractions. The headline news — that former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and GOP National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus will attend — leaked last week.

This afternoon, Republicans announced that they've got a packed agenda of entertainment during the convention, too.

On the evening of June 6, convention delegates and their families can adjourn to "Fort Fun Night" at Parkview Field. Six city restaurants will offer a taste of Fort Wayne. Four bands — Last Call, Sierra Shame, Urban Legend and Sugar Shot — will entertain the delegates, and fireworks will follow their performances.

On June 7, delegates will be shuttled to Science Central, Allen County Courthouse, Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Jefferson Pointe, Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory and Genealogy Center at the main Allen County Public Library.

"Allen County is going to set the benchmark for future state GOP conventions," said Allen County GOP Chairman Steve Shine. "The convention program, along with the activities we have planned for the delegates, including Friday night's keynote speaker at the Grand Wayne Center, the Parkview Field celebration, and Saturday night's concert at the Embassy Theatre, will take the fun and excitement level to new heights."
