Eight former Irish players picked over three days

The University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish didn't win any sort of championship last season, but a nice collection of players left their college days behind in supreme fashion during the NFL Draft.

Eight players heard their names called, starting with offensive tackle Zack Martin going in the first round to the Dallas Cowboys and ending with wide receiver T.J. Jones goinng to the Detroit Lions in the sixth round.

Here's a quick run down of where the former Golden Domers are headed:

* Zack Martin, offensive tackle, 16th pick (first round) to the Dallas Cowboys.

* Stephon Tuitt, defensive end, 46th pick (second round) to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

* Troy Niklas, tight end, 52nd pick (second round) to the Arizona Cardinals.

* Louis Nix III, nose tackle, 83rd pick (third round) to the Houston Texans.

* Chris Watt, guard, 89ths pick (third round) to the San Diego Chargers.

* Prince Shembo, outside linebacker, 139th pick (fourth round) to the Atlanta Falcons.

* Bennett Jackson, cornerback, 187th pick (sixth round) to the New York Giants.

* T.J. Jones, wide receiver, 189th pick (sixth round) to the Detroit Lions.

Indiana University

* Cody Latimer, wide receiver, 56th pick (second round) to the Denver Broncos.

* Ted Bolser, tight end, 217th pick (seventh round) to the Washington Redskins.

Purdue University

* Ricardo Allen, cornerback, 147th (fifth round) to the Atlanta Falcons.

* Kevin Pamphile, offensive tackle, 149th (fifth round) to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Ball State University

* Jonathan Newsome, defensive end, 166th pick (fifth round) to the Indianapolis Colts.

* Keith Wenning, quarterback, 194th pick (sixth round) to the Baltimore Ravens.
