Letter to the editor: No pile left behind

Monday, May 26, 2014 - 12:01 am

On my twice-daily walks with Mollie (our dog), I occasionally encounter residents who stress they would appreciate my picking up after Mollie, which I do religiously. It got me thinking that I might propose to the City Council an ordinance making fertilizing others’ lawns without permission a misdemeanor. It would probably be about as enforceable as the “You’d better shovel your sidewalk or else” law, but would hopefully make all dog-walkers aware of their responsibility. We could call it the “No pile left behind” law. What do you think?
