Purdue point guard can shoot as well as pass

KNIGHTSTOWN - What kind of impact will guard P.J. Thompson make as a freshman for Purdue?

Coach Matt Painter has made it clear the Boilers need someone who can run the offensive show and not hunt shots.

Veteran Bryson Scott, the former Northrop standout, has endured his college baptism of fire. He's spent the off-season working to fix the point guard flaws that limited his effectiveness. But he has never been a true point guard.

Thompson has, at nearly every level. While he was a big-time scorer at Indianapolis Brebeuf, the Boilers won't need that from him.
