As Notre Dame continues to chase big-name prospects to fill up various spots in the Class of 2015, the Fighting Irish wrapped up its recruitment at an underrated position on Tuesday. Kicker Justin Yoon out of Milton Academy in Massachusetts committed to Notre Dame over offers from Stanford, Texas A&M and others, becoming the first special teams player to verbal to the Fighting Irish this cycle.

Rated as a three-star prospect by Scout.com, a national Internet recruiting service, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Yoon is widely considered one of the top kickers in the country this cycle.

On film, Yoon showcases a strong, compact leg that explodes to the ball. His accuracy is solid from either hash and also displays solid hang time on kickoffs.

Yoon is expected to compete for the open kicker job when he arrives in South Bend sometime next year. Incumbent Kyle Brindza is entering his final season of eligibility.

Scholarship punter Tyler Newsome may also battle Yoon for the kicking duties next season. Newsome was a three-star prospect in last year's class out of Georgia.

Notre Dame's recruiting class now stands at 14 members and is ranked No. 11 in the country by Rivals.com.

In other recruiting news:

- One of the Fighting Irish's top wide receiver targets has committed elsewhere. Alex Odofile of Missouri, who at 6-foot-3 was a good fit for the outside receiver position for Notre Dame, committed to Oregon on Tuesday.

- Bishop Luers junior wideout Austin Mack received a scholarship offer from Notre Dame on Tuesday. He on a visit to South Bend with AWP Sports WR coach and former Indiana University and NFL wideout Dre Muhammad.

- Notre Dame has already begun throwing out scholarship offers to sophomore prospects, with offensive lineman Josh Myers out of Miamisburg, Ohio picking one up earlier this week.
